Notes

George joined the Manchester Regiment in Ashton under Lyne on the 28th June 1891, 
aged 15 years 11 months, his height is given as 5ft 21/2 inches, his weight as 112 lbs. 
His chest measured 32 inches His complexion is described as fresh, his eyes blue, hair brown. 
His religious denomination is given as  Church of England. 
 He had no distinctive marks.
He enlisted for 12 years and then signed up for a further 11 years in 1911
George saw service in South Africa during 1901 and 1902 
and with the British Expeditionary force in France from 1914 - 1916.
 His Military History sheet shows that he was wounded in the right foot
George Myerscough was awarded  the Victory medal, 
& the British War Medal & 1914 Star for service in World War One. 
His 1914 star received Clasp & Roses 1V
