Harold A Myerscough
MONTICELLO – Harold A. Myerscough, 76,
of Seymour passed away at 7:07 a.m. Saturday (March 3, 2018) at Blessing Hospital, Quincy.
Harold was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Taylorville, the son of Gerald A. and Geraldine L. (Sanders) Myerscough.
He married Karen Miller on Sept. 27, 1970, in Seymour.
Harold is survived by his wife, Karen Myerscough of Seymour; son, Charlie Myerscough of Seymour; and sister, Janet Creek of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Howard.
Harold was a quarter horse breeder and judge and he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was also owner/operator of Myerscough Trucking and Wood Shaving business, and he farmed.
He spent 65 years as a judge for the American Quarter Horse Association, the NCHA and the NRHA. Harold judged and showed horses throughout the entire United States and Canada.
He was a lifetime member of the Illinois Quarter Horse Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Midwest Truckers Association. He also served as a trustee on the Seymour Fire Department.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home,
Monticello. Private family funeral services will be held.
