We are
Sheila & Steve

My name is Sheila Gibbons, in Family History I sometimes use my maiden name,
you will find me as Sheila McDermott!!,
Steve is simpler, once a Williams always a Williams!!

My connection to the Myerscough family is through my Maternal Great Grandmother
Mary Ann Myerscough born 14 January 1849.

Whilst researching my Myerscough line in 1998 we were privileged to meet
Agnes Myerscough of Longton who has spent 20 years searching the Myerscough families
and documented over 6000
We now have  10,560 Myerscough's and their associated families with 3,544 marriages

At the beginning of 2007 due to failing health
Agnes asked us to become custodian of her data on the understanding that it is made
available to
Family Historians researching their own Myerscough ancestors.

To continue her work, we have designed this website in Memory of Agnes
and as the focus of our Myerscough One Name Study.

The aims of the Myerscough One Name Study are to provide:

              1) A homebase for the Myerscough One Name Study
                        2)  A repository for the index to the Myerscough's database
                                  3) A central location for Myerscough related  source documentation
 4) A way of sharing information.

This is a contribution style website. In other words, the success of the website depends on contributions from other Myerscough researchers, in the form of participation in the project with source documentation and family line information.

We truly hope that this site helps fellow Myerscough genealogists ,everywhere.
This is our way of thanking all of those who have helped us along in our Family History research

And, of course, we are always open to ideas, suggestions and comments. Please feel free to let us know your thoughts.
