John Myerscough
1902- 1944
Notes
John was the son of John and Lavina Myerscough;
husband of Mary Myerscough, nee Martin
of Prudhoe, Northumberland.
He died on the 28 June 1944 at the age of 42.
6th Battalion:
The Battalions were initially both in the 15th (Scottish) Division
(were duplicates of the 4th and 5th Battalions).
15 June 1944:
In the same Division Battalions landed on the Normandy beaches.
They were involved in the fierce battles around Caen and the River Odon
and continually fought through France, Belgium and Holland, and crossing the Siegfried Line,
they advanced across the Rhine into Germany,
ending the war just beyond Hamburg. September 1944:

War Medal 1939-1945. & 1939-45 Star
