CHARLESTON, IL --April 28, 2013 9:04 pm
Loraine Myerscough, age 83 of Charleston and formerly of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away while in the comforting presence of her family on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at the corner of Tenth & Jefferson Streets in Charleston with
Father John Titus presiding.
Visitation for family and friends will also be held Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 at the church.
Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery in Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, Loraine’s family has requested that thoughtful donations in her honor be made to Lincolnland Hospice.
Gifts may be left on the memorial table at the Visitation or Mass or mailed to Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston, IL 61920.

Loraine was born February 23, 1930 in Christian County, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Malsbury) Fleigle. She married Merle Myerscough on September 23, 1948 in Taylorville and they have been blessed with

sixty-four years of marriage and friendship. In addition to her loving husband Merle, she is survived by five sons, Jerry and wife Carol, Dave and wife Althea, Kevin and wife Cindy, and Brian and wife Trina, all of Charleston, and
Mark and wife Denise of Bloomington, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister,
Juanita Nation and husband Ken of Morrisonville, Illinois along with nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Fleigle and a daughter-in-law,
Karen Myerscough.

Loraine was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Charleston as well as the Women of the Moose Charleston Chapter No. 1175, Ladies of the Elks and the Charleston Country Club.

She was employed at Noble’s Flower Shop for ten years and assisted with the family owned business, Jerry’s Pizza. But first and foremost, Loraine was a devoted wife and mother whose priority was always her family.
She dearly loved Merle and their sons and created for them cherished memories of a warm and loving home.
As the mother of five sons, Loraine spent a great deal of time at their many sporting events — she was always their biggest fan.
She was thrilled with the arrival of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dearly loved sharing time with them — they were her pride and joy.
She also enjoyed an afternoon on the golf course, was an extremely good bowler, and faithfully rooted for her beloved Chicago Cubs.
She was a fan of NASCAR and as race fans Loraine and Merle both enjoyed many trips to the
Indy Motor Speedway in Indianapolis for an afternoon of racing.

Loraine will be dearly missed but ever so fondly and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
