Notes
Thomas's military career is somewhat dificult to put together from the papers that we have available.
At some point he was in the Machine Gun Corps, and at others he is in the Labour Corps -
he appears to have different regimental numbers 12178 and 629226 -
but the actual dates when he was attached to which regiments is difficult to ascertain.

Thomas served with the Machine Gun Corps (11 Loyal North Lancashire).

Whilst in France in 1917/1918 he had several visits to hospital for
synovitis of the left knee. and impetago

Thomas enlisted on the 11 April 1915 at Garstang.
Thomas Myerscough served in the 582 Agricultural Company of the Labour Corps as a private with regimental number of 629226.

Before his military service he was a farmer.

It would appear that he enlisted in the Labour Corps on the 11th August 1915
His medical report states that he had deafness in the left ear pain in left knee and impetigo.

He was in the Queen Mary's Military Hospital at Whalley for 12 days being treated for impetigo.
The record says that whilst in the trenches,
Thomas was hit in the left ear by a clod of earth thrown up by a shell explosion.
Two or three weeks later he began to feel deaf and then matter came from his ear
He did not report this till several months later when his knee was injured in November 1917 when he slipped and fell hurting his knee against a buckboard.  and the knee swelled up
Thomas served in France March 1916 to Sept 1918 in the infantry (Machine Gun Corps?)
Thomas  Myerscough was awarded
the Victory Medal & British War Medal
for service in World War
 Medals
<Military Record Collection>

Thomas's father was also Thomas a gunner with the Royal Field Artillery (No 55851)
