Are held and firmly bounden unto the Reverend Father and Lord in Christ, John, by divine permission Lord Bishop of Chester,
In the sum of forty pounds of good and lawful money of England, to be paid to the same Reverend Father or his certain attorney in this regard, their heirs, executors or successors;
To which payment indeed, well and faithfully to be made, we firmly oblige ourselves, and each of us by himself separately for the whole, and our heirs, executors and administrators, by these presents sealed with our seals.
Dated the fourth day of the month of April in the year of our Lord 1640.

A Declarac[i]on of the Accompt of James Maschew, Administrator of all & singuler the good[es], right[es], Creditt[es], Cattalls and Chattalls
which of late weare & did belong unto Thomas Maschew, late of Underbarrow, of the Archdeaconrie of Richmond & Dyoc[es] of Chester, his late father Deceassed, made and Exhibitted into the Comissarie Court w[i]thin the Archedeaconry of Richmond aforesaid the Third Day of March Anno D[omi]ni 1640.
Impr[im]is [first] this accomptant chargeth himselfeto have had & received of the said
Deceassed[es] good[es] & Cattall[es] the sume of Nine pound[es] & fowerteene
shilling[es], being the
sume totall of the Inventorie of the said Dece[ase]d[es] £ 9 14s
good[es] & Cattall by him, this accomptant, Exhibitted into the Court aforesaid, as by the
same, remaineing upon record, more at large Doth & may appeare Su[m]ma patet [the sum appears]
Out of which this accomptant hath payed and necessarily Disbursed, & therof craveth allowance,the p[ar]ticuler sums hereafter following, vizt.
Impr[im]is this accomptant hath payed unto One Rob[er]t Harrison, of Staveley in the county of Westm[or]land, yeoman, for a Debt Due unto him uppon the Deceassed[es] bond, as by the same bond, now cancelled, & ready to be showen, more at large Doth & may appeare,

of Westm[or]land, woollendrap[er], Due unto him uppon the Deceassed bill, as by the same, now cancell[e]d, more at large Doth & may appeare, the sume of 38 10
It[e]m in like manner payed unto one Will[ia]m John Clerke, of Crooke aforesaid, clerke, Due unto him uppon the Deceassed[es] bond, & for charg[es] spent in answering of the suitte, as by an acquittance under the hand & seale of the said John Clarke more at large appeareth, the sume of 40
