Statement of Service


Notes
William Myerscough was 33 when  on the 10th April 1908 he joined the 4th battalion
the Royal Sussex Regiment.
He is shown on his attestation papers as being a carpenter for the Duke of Norfolk.. 
He was discharged on 18th October 1916 

as being no longer physically fit for War Service having served 8 years 192 days.
He was awarded the Long Service (Volunteer) medal
His medical history show that he had an attack of rheumatism April 1912,
an attack of influenza April 1915 and was hospitalised in Newhaven for 3 weeks.
From then he complained of giddiness and shortness of breath. 
He also had myocardial degeneration.
